Rankin Creative Writing Students Present College InkThe students in Larry Martin’s creative writing courses worked diligently all spring to create the tenth volume of College, Ink., ºÚÁϹÙÍø’s literary magazine.

College, Ink. has been in existence on the Rankin Campus since the spring of 1999 and was the brainchild of Dr. Linda Hill and Dean Gary Fox.  The name of the magazine was created by the first students to put the magazine together and is a pun on the abbreviation “Inc.â€

Each year, the magazine has been submitted to the Best In-House Creative Writing Magazine contest sponsored by the Mississippi Community College Creative Writing Association. The magazine from spring 2012 (Vol. 9) was submitted in this year’s contest and won third place. The magazine that was put together by this spring’s students (Vol. 10) will be submitted in the spring 2014 contest. In the past, one volume was awarded first place, and another volume, second place.

On May 8, the creative writing students presented faculty with the spring 2013 issue. Faculty included Dr. Sue Powell, vice president of the Rankin Campus, Dr. Sherry Franklin, dean of student affairs, and Gary Fox, academic dean.
