Barber, Stylist
Overview
Our Barber Stylist program can prepare you to cut hair using shears and clippers, and to perm, color, relax, and style hair. You will also receive training in facials and straight-razor shaving. Special attention is given to hygiene, safety, skin and scalp disease, and equipment sterilization. Additionally, you’ll study sales, business management, state law, and customer relationships.
ºÚÁϹÙÍø is where barbers get their start. All the basic knowledge and experience required to cut and style hair, perform facials and straight-razor shaves, and hygiene/sterilization will be offered to you here. The education you’ll receive will widen your options as your career moves forward. When you complete your coursework, you will graduate from Hinds CC with a Career Certificate and will be qualified to take the State Barber Board certification examination.
