Paramedic Program

About

黑料官网 offers a full-time day program option for paramedic training with two program options (Traditional Paramedic Option and Paramedic Bridge Option). EMT and Human Anatomy and Physiology I are prerequisites for the Paramedic program; a score of C or better is required in Human Anatomy and Physiology I.

Our Paramedic program is a one-year curriculum, beginning each August and completing the following July. The paramedic class meets on Mondays and Tuesdays of each week from 8 a.m.鈥4:00 p.m. Contact us for the upcoming year鈥檚 schedule.

Admission Requirements
  • Application for admission to 黑料官网.
  • Application to the Paramedic Program.
  • Validation of high school graduation by official high school transcript or high school equivalency transcript (GED庐, HiSET庐, TASC鈩, or Mississippi Competency-Based High School Equivalency). (For currently enrolled high school students, an updated transcript, validating high school graduation, will be required prior to beginning the program.)
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended, except 黑料官网.
  • ACT composite score of 17 (If taken before October 1989 – 14) OR a Next Generation ACCUPLACER Reading score of 246 (only for those currently employed in the field of emergency medical service or fire service).
Prerequisite to the First Clinical Course
  • Completion of the following college courses with a grade of “C” or above; BIO 2511 – Anatomy and Physiology I, Laboratory and BIO 2513 – Anatomy and Physiology I, Lecture
  • EMT certification is a prerequisite to the Fall Paramedic Program start.听 Students must submit a current copy of the National Registry registration (copy of the National Registry card) prior to the first day of class.
  • Advance EMT certification is a prerequisite for students wishing to join an existing Paramedic Program in the Spring. Students must submit a current copy of the National Registry registration (copy of the National Registry card) prior to the first day of class.

Selection Process
  1. Applications will be available from March 1st thru July 31st for EMT (Fall start) and March 1st through October 31st for Advanced EMTs (Spring start)
  2. Preference will be given to applicants who complete the application procedure by April 15th for fall admission and September 30th for Spring admission.
  3. Individuals who have submitted all required admission documents by the specified deadline will be considered for program admission based on a rating scale that includes but is not limited to: ACT composite score; ACT Math and Reading subscores; and highest previous certificate or degree; and military experience. Individuals can also receive points if they have completed any of the following courses with at least a grade of 鈥淐鈥:
    • ENG 1113 鈥 English Composition I or ENG 1114
    • PSY 1513 鈥 General Psychology
    • SPT 1113 鈥 Public Speaking I or SPT 2173 鈥 Interpersonal Communication
    • BIO 2511 鈥 Anatomy and Physiology I, Laboratory and BIO 2513 鈥 Anatomy and Physiology I, Lecture
    • BIO 2521 鈥 Anatomy and Physiology II, Laboratory and BIO 2523 鈥 Anatomy and Physiology II, Lecture
  4. Applicants selected for admission into the program must attend a program orientation session.
  5. Applicants not selected for a class may reapply for subsequent classes by submitting a new Application to the Paramedic Program.
