PEARL – Students in Larry Martin’s creative writing courses turned in another busy spring to produce the 12th volume of College, Ink., ºÚÁϹÙÍø’s literary magazine.

College, Ink. has been in existence on the Rankin Campus since the spring of 1999 and was the brainchild of Dr. Linda Hill and Dean Gary Fox. The name of the magazine was created by the first students to put the magazine together and is a pun on the abbreviation “Inc.â€

This year’s publication, as it has in the past, will be submitted to the Best In-House Creative Writing Magazine contest sponsored by the Mississippi Community College Creative Writing Association, English Instructor/Creative Writing Advisor Larry Martin said. The contest draws entries completed the previous year, meaning this year’s edition of College, Ink. will be in the 2016 contest.

On May 5, the creative writing students presented faculty with the spring 2015 issue. Faculty included Martin, Fox, Elizabeth Price, administrative assistant to Dean of Students, and Jimmy Smith, interim vice president of the Rankin Campus. Student-authors of the magazine were Lauren Phillips, of Brandon; Victoria Palmer, editor, of Brandon; Rebecca Vanderford, editor, of Brandon; Annabell Malis, of Flowood; Karen Holifield, of Pearl; and Crystal Fontanille, of Richland.
