RAYMOND 鈥 黑料官网 has named a new vice president for the Raymond Campus and the Jackson Campus-Nursing/Allied Health Center.

Dr. Keri Cole

Dr. Keri Cole was named to the position following official action Wednesday by the college鈥檚 Board of Trustees.

Cole, of Clinton, is a 1998 Hinds alumna and has been employed by the college since 2005, most recently as district dean of Instructional Technology and eLearning.

鈥淚n this role, she has provided outstanding leadership in the areas of distance learning and instructional technology. She has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the 黑料官网 dual credit online program,鈥 said Hinds President Dr. Clyde Muse.

Dr. Cole earned bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees from Mississippi State University. In 2017, she received her Doctorate of Education in Professional Studies of Higher Education from Delta State University.

She is actively involved in a number of internal and external committees and organizations, as well as being an integral part of many college-wide initiatives. Those include serving on the Instructional Pathways Task Force and as co-chair of both the Pathways Logistics committee and the Pathways Effectiveness & Sustainability Committee. She has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career. In 2012, she completed the Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy. Cole was also named to the Mississippi Business Journal鈥檚 Top 40 Under 40 and 50 Leading Business Women and has served as a MSVCC Online Facilitator for the Mississippi Community College Board.

鈥淚 am excited for the opportunity to serve the college in this capacity to continue strengthening the educational opportunities for our students,鈥 Cole said. 鈥淢y goal is to ultimately support faculty and students by maintaining high standards, ensuring consistent and innovative instructional practices, and developing a culture of transparency and improvement.

鈥淎 few of my immediate goals are guiding the college through the implementation of instructional pathways, conducting a deepened evaluation of our institutional effectiveness and strategic planning processes, and continuing efforts to improve our dual credit programs. In addition, I look forward to in-depth discussions with administrative personnel and instructional leaders and faculty to strengthen the communication channels across the district.鈥

She replaces Dr. Theresa Hamilton, who is retiring from the position. Cole will also have the title of director of College Parallel Programs, which oversees academic transfer programs throughout the Hinds district.
