PEARL – ºÚÁϹÙÍø is expanding its Rankin Campus Career and Technical Building to add programs in high-demand technical fields of study.

An open house and brief program to unveil the improvements is 2 p.m. June 19 at the facility, at 11 Community College Blvd., off Greenfield Road.

Those instrumental in the development of the Rankin Campus and with the expansion will speak, including Hinds President Dr. Clyde Muse, Dr. Norman Session, vice president for the Rankin Campus and Irl Dean Rhodes, vice chairman of the ºÚÁϹÙÍø Foundation Board of Directors.

Programs in Electromechanical Technology, Robotics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Welding and Mechatronics will benefit from the additional classroom at the building, among others.

The building has housed career-tech classes since 2009, after the college purchased it the year before. Built in 2002, the two-story, 40,000 square-foot building sits on five acres about five miles from the main Rankin Campus off Highway 80.
